This is my FAVORITE question! In the past, Raleigh Trophy did not charge separate setup fees. It sounds cool to say “no set up fees”. In reality, any company that says “no set up fees” has embedded the set up fees in the price of the product. We don’t think this is a good idea for the following reasons:
- The customization difficulty can vary from a simple monogram to a complex logo or a photo that needs to be scanned, filtered and then dithered to produce an engravable image. The amount of work required to produce the engravable image varies and we want to be up front with this cost. If your customization is straight forward then your cost should be low. If your idea requires a bit of our professional graphics artists time we want you to know exactly how much it costs.
- Once you have paid for the set up fee you should not have to pay for it again when you order more than one item in a run. You will see that our prices do go down when you order in volume, but not significantly.. that is because the set up fee is outside the price per item. At Customark Gifts and Awards, if you want just one item we will take your order. Other sites require a minimum of 20 or 100 pens (so they can hide the set up fees).
Here is an example:
Our Mikasa lead crystal wine glass sells for $19.99 per stem (1-11). Lets say you want the personalization to say “Lisa and Wes April 12, 1985” and you need 8 of them:
