Q1:  What makes Raleigh Trophy better than other trophy companies?

At Raleigh Trophy we have a “Stand and Deliver” policy.  It is not our goal to sell you a product. It is our goal to delight you with our products such that you feel we are your partner and a company you can trust time and again to deliver quality products at prices that not only are competitive but in many cases the lowest on the market. Trust is something earned and to be handled with care.. we want your trust and ask for the opportunity to earn it.

Q2: Do you have products other than what is on your web site?

We are always looking for new products to add to our catalog.  We do have other items that we market that are not on the site at this time. It takes time for the product photography to be completed and for our catalog to be updated.  In addition, we are always willing to work with customers on their ideas even if it is something we don’t currently offer.  Call us and if your idea is something we can help with we will!

Q3: What type of materials can you engrave?

We use a Trotec CO2 laser to engave our products.  The laser can engrave or mark:

Wood

Rubber

Acrylic

Leather

Glass

Stainless Steel

Plastic

Anodized Aluminum

Marble

Paper

Cloth

Mat Board

Styrene

Brass

Tin

Nickel

Chrome

Corian

Ceramic

Speedy rotary

We also use a sandbast pressure pot system to further process and deep etch our glass products.  Combining a high precision laser to engrave the pattern into a protective mask and then blast the glass with 180-220 grit Aluminum Oxide is the perfect combination for our glass products.  We also use this technique for stainless steel as the sand blasting produces a great effect.

Q4: How large of an item can you engrave?

It really depends on the item. The bed of our laser is roughly 28” X 18” but the doors can open and we can engrave things like boat oars or baseball bats.  We can do beach cottage signs up to 32”X28”

Q5: Can I send an item to be engraved?

We prefer to engrave items that we provide, this is because if there is a mistake made we can replace the item.  If you provide the item we can not be held responsible for the item even if the mistake if our fault.  We have engraved items provided by our customers with their understanding and agreement that Raleigh Trophy is not responsible for any mistakes or less than desirable results.

With this said, if you really want an item you already have engraved then give us a call and we can talk about it!.

Q6: Can you engrave in color?

We can fill our glass and marble products with either 18kt Gold or Silver after it has been engraved.  The engraving process itself does not add color to an an item..

Q7: Do you ship to countries other than the United States?

We can ship to other counties and will be happy to work with you on this.  Raleigh Trophy reserves the right to limit what counties it will ship to. You would be responsible for all target country taxes, import fees and costs related to shipping and insuring the product.

Q8: Why is there a Set-up fee?

This is my FAVORITE question!  In the past, Raleigh Trophy did not charge separate setup fees.  It sounds cool to say “no set up fees”. In reality, any company that says “no set up fees” has embedded the set up fees in the price of the product.  We don’t think this is a good idea for the following reasons:

  • The customization difficulty can vary from a simple monogram to a complex logo or a photo that needs to be scanned, filtered and then dithered to produce an engravable image. The amount of work required to produce the engravable image varies and we want to be up front with this cost.  If your customization is straight forward then your cost should be low.  If your idea requires a bit of our professional graphics artists time we want you to know exactly how much it costs.
  • Once you have paid for the set up fee you should not have to pay for it again when you order more than one item in a run.  You will see that our prices do go down when you order in volume, but not significantly.. that is because the set up fee is outside the price per item.  At Customark Gifts and Awards, if you want just one item we will take your order.  Other sites require a minimum of 20 or 100 pens (so they can hide the set up fees).

Here is an example:

Our Mikasa lead crystal wine glass sells for $19.99 per stem (1-11).   Lets say you want the personalization to say “Lisa and Wes  April 12, 1985” and you need 8 of them:

($19.99 X 10) + $15 = $214.90

Other sites will sell you this high quality glass engraved with no set up fee for $28 per stem.

($28.00 X 10) + $0 = $280.00

Raleigh Trophy is 23% less expensive!

Not only is our total price almost always lower, our quality is always the highest and we strive to produce your order quickly and get it to your door in just a few days.

Q9: Can I order online?

No.  We have found that pricing customized items can vary and we want to ensure we understand your ideas exactly prior to providing you a detail quote. Our site shows our product prices and estimated set up fees to give you an idea of the costs. After talking with our staff you will given a complete quote. Try us.. it really is okay to order something over the phone!

Q10: Why is there air?

I grew up listening to Bill Cosby records (yes, records, prior to 8-tracks, cassettes, CD’s, and MP3).  One of his albums was titled “Why is there Air?”. It is all about things that kids do and say and remembering this album keeps me young.  As to why is there air? I think the whole gravity thing is involved or it may be a conspiracy by the secret airless society on the dark side of the moon.
